  This is one of the rarest gems that I have ever listed on ebay.  It is well cut, has an excellent polish, great color, large size and great clarity. This was in my personal collection until I was able to cut a larger gem to take its place.  There are some fine veils, but they are not that obvious and due to the impressive size of the stone, they are not all that important.  Rhodochrosite from any location has gone up considerable in the past few years due to all known major deposits being closed (Sweethome Mine, CO/ Hotazel Mine, South Africa) and only very small amount of material has been found worldwide.  Current retail prices for this quality is at least $300/ct.
