I have a gorgeous and large wonderful hand carved clean – working with double birds ¼ hr Quail- ½ hr & hr Cuckoo clock. This is an absolutely nice and working clock – Solid wood – No broken – It just has been serviced and oiled. It is hard to find a rare Quail and Cuckoo Clock good condition like this one. The clock is powered by three heavy weights. The clock measures approx.18" top of bird to bottom and 14" widest point and 7” deep. As you know a cuckoo clock only sings on the half hour once and on the hour the number of hours it is, But a Quail cuckoo clock chirps & gong on the 1/4 hour once, then on the half hour he chirps & gong twice, followed by the cuckoo bird once & gong, then on the 3/4 quarter hour the quail chirps & gong three times and then on the hour he chirps & gong four times followed by the cuckoo bird which calls out the hours. There are 2 gong hammers those are for the quail and another hammer is for the cuckoo. This clock gives you a better idea of the proper time.
