Beautiful antique pillow - this is truly fabulous! Found in the estate of a collector of old textiles. Fabric is a patterned damask or brocade with luxuriant floral elements. Big and heavy, stuffed with down. Based on the style, as well as the pillow I found it with, I suspect it is French in origin. Likely over 100 years old. Rare and absolutely marvelous...
Colors are more muted in real life, but the fabric kept picking up the light when I was taking pictures! It is large, measuring about 21 inches square, and is about 8 inches thick. It weighs a ton, coming in at almost 6 lbs.
Condition is pretty good. Couple of the corners look rough, some light pulls and some fraying here and there, a few light stains (difficult to see), but honestly, I think it has aged well overall. It's been in storage a long time, and could use an airing out and probably a cleaning of some sort, maybe a bit of restoration.
This auction is for the single pillow, but the last two pictures show it with the other one from the same estate - you can see they look amazing together! I'm always happy to combine shipping to save you money.
