She has competed in fiddle contests throughout the Northwestern United States and British Columbia, winning numerous awards. She has performed solo and in groups for various events. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Idaho in 1992 and holds an Idaho Teacher's Certificate.  She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
