Certainly one of the finest pieces of test equipment of all time, we received this
General Radio GenRad GR 13111A from an aerospace bankruptcy in above
average used condition.
It is basically a solid state (transistor era) sinewave oscillator. It is quite unusual
in that it covers twelve fixed frequencies. Eleven are popular presets over a 50 Hertz to
10 kIloHertz range. The twelvth is custom hard wire programmable to a frequency of your
choice by adding two precision resistors. Each frequency is trim adjustable over a
+2% to -2% range. The unit is particularly useful for bridge measurements.
This is a Wein Bridge style oscillator that typically has lower distortion
than a function generator. Five outputs are adjustable over a 1 to a full 100 (!)
volt output range.
This unit is in the "older black" GR livery. We supply an adaptor to fit the older
line cord design. The unit is 110vac line powered.
You can click here to download the 1311A User Manual that includes full schematics.
