Up for your consideration is this RARE, ORIGINAL, SIGNED, FRAMED, ARTWORK SCULPTURE by GREG COPELAND, circa 1970's. This unique piece of art is framed with 3 THICK MATTS, with a MIRRORED BACKGROUND and INDIVIDUAL 3-D FOLDED ORIGAMI PAPER, surrounding a center of PRESSED RAISED PAPER in a hexagon shape of 6 RAISED TRIANGLES. The piece measures 22 1/4" x 22 1/4" square and weighs over 13 pounds. Greg Copeland originally started his artwork at the 41 Central Ave., Passaic, NJ location. HE IS THE FOUNDER OF THE FIRM OF G. COPELAND,INC. BORN IN YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO, GRADUATED FROM WESTERN RESERVE IN 1960, AFTER MAJORING IN DESIGN AND ART HISTORY. STARTED SHOWING HIS WORK 1969. I've seen his pieces priced from $500 to $2500. This one is in wonderful vintage condition with all the folded pieces firmly in place and no discoloration. There is a bit of haze on the inside on the glass but it does not seem to effect the paper. The art piece can be easily taken apart to have the glass cleaned.
