I purchased this guitar in a showroom new in 1964 and have owned it since that
time. For the last number of years, it was in storage and had no playing
time
at all. So we made the decision to sell it to someone who will enjoy its
performance abilities rather than having it take up space in a closet.
In addition to knowing it is a model # 6135, It appears that the number '1117'
(can't read it clearly) has been stamped on the rear of the head of the neck. The body
of the guitar is showing it's age. After all, it is 48 years old. There are cracks in the finish but only
one (the size of a thumbtack) where the lacquer has actually come off. You
can't see the cracks from any distance. Don't want to overemphasize them,
but just want to make sure I list them. The
pictures should illustrate the condition. The neck is straight and has the
same action as the day I bought it.
When it was put into storage, the last time it
was played, all functionality
worked. The pickup selection switch needs some cleaning and also it is
missing the plastic screw on knob. As it has been in storage for the last number of years, some
of the other controls might need cleaning (or spraying with electrical contact
cleaner) to eliminate 'static' noise or 'hum'. When I took it out of the
case the other day, it was amazing to find that it was almost still in perfect
tune. Too bad I don't have someone to hand this down to. Oh, well..
It needs some TLC and a good owner to make it do what it does best....
With this auction, I will include:
