inferior china steel this is USA MADE STEEL. im not going to give some
crap claim that its a certain rockwell hardness like others because
thats just crap. if it breaks send it back and will send another no
questions asked pretty simple.i have sold over 1500 of them with only 2
replacements ever needed.i have a video instruction if you want to see
how well it works. the perfect gift for

SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR OTHER CLUB MAKING TOOLS Just a little general information on tool steels,
Tool steels are
supplied to customers in the annealed condition
with typical hardness values around 200-250 Brinell ( 20 HRC) to
facilitate machining and grinding. they also have a coating on them to
stop them from rusting because of the high carbon content of tool
steels, if they didn't it would turn to solid rust in a matter of
minuets in the right conditions. there are a number of reasons why i
use W-2 tool steel and not A-2 tool steel. first is the cost, A-2 tool
steel cost about 15 times more than W-2 tool steel (not even feasible).
second, A-2 tool steel is a lot harder to heat treat as it takes
temperatures over 1800 degrees compared to W-2 which is 1400 degrees
and can be done in my shop forge. third, heat treating A-2 tool steel
penetrates all the way thru the thin tool which makes it brittle and
very easy to break, W-2 tool steel when heat treated doesn't penetrate
all the way thru making it much more durable and hard to break the end
of tool off. fourth, Toughness is outstanding, with these alloys being
used for grader blade edges, truck springs and files. fifth, a couple
of the best knife makers in the country all say w-2 steel is the best
steel for the application (believe me i have researched it
thoroughly)and will measure 65+ on the HRC scale.
some
competitors (or i should say copiers check the feedback when they
started selling them)say they use A-2 tool steel which isnt even
feasible at $18.00. they also say
genuine tool steel will not benefit from additional heat treating as its already as hard as it can be, it measures 63 Rockwell.
sorry but your not going to mill or grind some thing that hard, it
needs to be ground to the finish size and then heat treated, and every
one knows what happens to steel when heated to 1400 degrees plus, it
turns color. ill let the pictures speak for them selfs as to the types
of steel there using. all you have to do is compare the coloring. i
added some pictures of tool steel and mild steel and my personal tool
that i have used in my shop for three years and have never had to
sharpen it once.
some thing the tool will not do, it will not
make your grooves deeper or wider, it remove material that gets bent
over into the grooves from dirt sand and stones every one encounters on
the course.
as said above its 100% guaranteed for life so bid with confidence.
i
cant list it here (ebay rules) but if you would like to see video and
more feedback just ask ill point ya to the greatest golf site on the web
some reveiws,
Thought Id leavea little
review. It got here sometime last week and was shipped quickly. Bill
did a great job, I was plesantly suprised to find stampings on the
sharpener and two on the handle itself. Very cool. I used it on my
wedges and irons and its very easy to use, and seems to work very well.
I havent hit balls on a golf course in months(snow) so im not sure if
the ball will actually spin more or anything but the grooves do look
sharper and freshend up. Nicely done Bill.
Got mine and used it this morning!
I like it!
The Handle and the Tool itself are stamped
'WOODY' in
Half Moon Crescent,
Horizontal and
Vertical orientation!
The tool has shop odor from the quenching process.
As close as we will get to true custom shop offering for $21!

thanks BILL
Cool!
I
really like handmade tools! Takes me way back to shop class in high
school, when we made chissels & hammers that I still have to this
day!
I've placed my order!
BTW, does
anyone notice the poor quality of tools and brushes that are being
pawned off on us at retail golf shops? That kind of reminds me of the
'Johnson Smith' catalogs with all the junk - like the handshake buzzer
that worked for about 10 shakes!
