Chrysoberyl var. Alexandrite

This is a piece of precious gem mineral - chrysoberyl var. Alexandrite from Masvingo, Zimbabwe.  This is a partial sixling xls of alexandrite with fair to good color change effect.  I included photos with white light and yellow bulb light to show the color change.  Alexandrite from Zimbabwe has a color change effect from deep green in sunlight to deep red in yellow light.  When illuminate with a yellow backlight you can see a cherry red color.  In fact most alexandrite mined from there don't show the distinct sixling features, they are always irregular shaped and badly damaged, and a partial sixling of this size is not always encountered in the market!  There maybe color distortion as the color change effect is difficult to capture with a DC.
