General Electric 3-E Superheterdyne Model GD-60 Tube Radio Art Deco Quarter Sawn Oak Cabinet Description: Art deco / mission / arts & crafts wood veneer (quarter sawn oak look) cabinet with bakelite or catalin knobs on this table radio made by General Electric, Bridgeport, CT around the 1930-40's. Measures 13" wide X 8" high X 7" deep. Condition: The wood cabinet is in great condition for age with just very minor surface scratches but needs a good cleaning and polishing. The fabric over the speaker is in excellent condition and tight. Knobs and dials are all present and in excellent working condition (see photo - paper on dials is worn). The cord is in fair condition and I braved it and plugged it in - there is static and the volume control works but I couldn't dial anything in. This unit would make a spectacular vintage display piece or a jewel for any radio collection if restored. Please see my other tube radio listings - all from the estate auction of a physician in Williamsport, PA. Check out my Ebay Store and other auction items listed. I specialize in vintage and the unique and different. |
