Genuine Rare French Miniture Oval L'Epee Carriage Clock

Genuine L'Epee French Oval Miniture Carriage Clock With Alarm !

Face and Case: White enamel face in perfect condition. Beautiful Roman numerals with stunning hands. All hands intact. Small Alarm Face lower down with single hand to set the alarm time. Stunning oval shapped brass case with laquer tarnished in places. A good clean will bring this clock shinning again but I like to leave as it is. Please see the pictures for details. Front, top, back and both sides has beautiful bevealled edged glass undamaged. On the underside of the clock you can see the Bell for the alarm and the small hammer that rings the bell.

Markings/Movement: On the face the clock comes marked 'L'Epee Fondee en 1839 Sainte - Suranne France'. The movement is in perfect condition. When you open the back door it has 4 Key points. There is two for the clock, 1 to wind and 1 to set the time. The other 2 are for the alarm, 1 to wind the alarm and the other to set the alarm time. The clock comes marked R A at the top corners in the back along with L'Epee 1839 with two swords crossed. There also is MADE IN FRANCE 11 ELEVEN JEWELS UNADJ.

Size: The height of the clock is 7.9cm approx (not including the handle). The diameter of the Base oval is 6.8cm by 5.8cm approx. If you need anymore dimensions please email me.

Condition: The condition of the clock is excellent. The clock could do with a good clean to the brass to bring it back up due to the lacquer being tarnished with age. I'm leaving this for the winning bidder to do as they please, Personnaly I like the clock the way it is. The box is not original but the clock sits in it nicely. And I dont think the keys are original due to the double ended key only fits one winder and then there is a smaller key to fit the small winders in the back, Genuine keys can be brought off ebay. Once wound the clock runs execellent and ticks away fine, also the alarm works perfect to. The clock could possibly benefit from a clean as this was my grandfathers for many years.
