These are a set of six Genuine Slate Coasters made of Slate, mined and manufactured in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. 

Dear Friends, It is with great pride that we have created this unusual refrigerator magnet made of genuine Pennsylvania slate. Each slate used has been mined at our quarry site which is located near the original slate mining town of Bangor, PA. Bangor slate is known worldwide to the finest splitting slate available. It is interesting to know that nature has taken over 400 million years to develop this stone. SInce slate discovery in Bangor in the mid 1800's, many uses were developed such as roofing slate, school blackboards, floor tile, etc.

When slate was discovered in America many Europeans, mostly Welsh, English, and Italians emigrated here. Their long hard journey to America would eventually lead them to the slate quarries of Bangor, PA. Here they would work hard to fulfill the American dream of a better life.

Thiese slate coasters will make a very unusual gift. Since no two slates ever share the same grain pattern you can feel that you have a one of a kind gift, created with the help of nature herself.
