German Sterling Silver Cherub Putti Pill Snuff Box 19c

This is an ornate and very fine antique silver box. It displays three cherubs on the top of the lid, and two on the bottom of box. The English import marks are readily visible, both on the lid and on the box. The actual maker's mark we found inside the box, and although they seem French, they are from Hanau, Germany. The age is 1899 or earlier (1899 is the year of import). The hallmark can be attributed to Neresheimer and Sons. The piece is 1 3/4" in diameter, and 7/8" high. There also appears to have been some gilding. The inner lid has a gold tinge, and the outside of the box has copper coloured tones around the scroll design (these actually wipe off, revealing just silver).
