Seller's description |
A German Antique Toy Village - over 150 pieces, the most complete set I've ever seen.
This set has been the same family for over 100 years. It was created by the German artist Richard Zeumer somewhere between 1890 and 1902 is our best estimate. (please see the label picture which is pasted inside one of the houses.)There are so many pieces and parts I have posted 118 additional photos on my SmugMug site. Please log into: http://bobber.smugmug.com/gallery/5431417_RD74m#332068189_5EXqR to see all the additional pictures. And if there is another picture you would like to see, please send an email and I will see that you get it. The set, for its age is in excellent condition with a few exceptions. Some of the figurines have an arm missing. And there are 12 more modern plastic animal figures, including cows, sheep, pigs and rabbits. There are 11 buildings, including church, butcher shop, town hall, mill and more. There are 7 horse-drawn carriages and wagons. There are 30 human figures, including school girls, bride & groom, pastor, maid, farmers and more. As mentioned above, 6 of the human figures have some damage, probably the result of children playing with them over the years. There are 28 animal figures, including cows, sheep, goats, pigs and deer. There are 18 metal animal figures, including geese, swans and dogs. There are 36 painted "ground squares" to make a town square, a creek, a river and roads Also included are accessories, including 2 bridges, windmill, wall with gateway, trees, fountain, road sign, lamp posts, wedding wreath arch, wood piles, walls and gardens.
All Told this is a rare opportunity for a serious collector.
