Gibson Hummingbird Custom Quilt Limited Guitar w/OHSC

I truly hate to part with this guitar but economics dictates that I do. It is a real gem. I seriously doubt you will find another quilted maple Hummingbird that is as beautiful as this one. I've only seen ONE on the Web and while it was nice, it didn't come close to the detail this has. It's sound and playability are equal to it's physical beauty as well. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking but here is a brief description.

This special Custom Hummingbird is one of only 20 made of its kind in 2006.
This particular custom is based on the famous 1960 Hummingbird with its classic Heritage Cherry Sunburst lacquer finish and distinctive Gibson Hummingbird Pickguard.
This special limited edition features a highly figured Quilted Maple back and sides and is accented with gold plated keystone tuners like the one used on the very first Hummingbirds in the 1960's.

 The Hummingbird is typically a "mahogany guitar" and has been in continuous production since 1960 when it was introduced as Gibson's first square-shouldered dreadnought.  This instrument is reminiscent of those early Hummingbirds with its classic Heritage Cherry Sunburst nitro finish, hand scalloped single-X brace configuration,  reverse-belly bridge,  split-parallelogram fingerboard inlays and characteristic engraved pickguard.  Where this particular instrument differs however is in the choice of tonewoods for the back & sides ... namely this absolutely STUNNING set of deeply quilted maple substituted for the traditional tropical mahogany!
