Gilbert & George, Side By Side, Signed, Lim. Ed. RARE

Here is a VERY rare title...defies catagory as they are artists and performance artists and truly unique people. Those reading this know who they are or simply won't be interested. So I will just describe the book here.

Book is in near fine condition. Tight, solid, clean with some of the very small very light "spotting" on free end papers and ultra light on borders of some illustrations that comes with the paper stock, not damage. Not much, not often. Hard covers in marbled cloth covers show some minor rub to spine or possibly the book just didn't have the dye take in detail there..this seems most likely.

Side by Side, Gilbert & George the sculptors. Copyright 1971 by George And Gilbert, Art for All, London. First published 1972 by Konig Brothers Cologne and New York. 1971 is on cover of book. Over 85 black and white plates of Gilbert & George, their art, some haunts such as the Savoy and the Ritz. Both have signed the " To the reader of Side by Side" a message from the sculptors. Inside back cover is No. 528 of 600. Contents: One..With Us in the Nature, Two--A Glimpse into the Abstract World, Three...The Reality in Our Living. I have had this book more than 20 years. I got it at an estate sale and owner said the book was owned by a friend of Gilbert and George and had inscribed free end paper.I have no idea if this is so and can't read the name so have just included a picture as perhaps someone out there will recognize the name.

Book measures 5 by 7 3/4 inches 170 pages. Profusely illustrated.A Unique Book!
