Gilbert Keith Chesterton Biography Maisie Ward 1st w/DJ

Book is in solid condition with bent corners and faded edges. Names written in pen on the attached front end page. Except for some discoloring to the end pages, the interior is otherwise very clean and mark-free, with cream-colored pages. The unclipped dust jacket is dingy and a bit worn and tattered around the edges as shown. There seems to be a bit of mothball smell. All-in-all nice copy.

Note: The picture of the copyright page did not turn out very well. This is how it reads: "Copyright, 1943, by Sheed & Ward, Inc." In later printings of this edition, the various printings are listed. None are listed in this book. G K Chesterton was a mentor and colleague of Dorothy Sayers.  Along with Agatha Christie and others, they started the "Detection Club" in the 1920's. The Club is still in existence.
