Ginger Rogers in "The Gay Divorcee"

This photo was produced under special circumstances from the Ernest Bachrach's personal collection of master prints intended for exhibition at the RKO galleries.  This photo was hand-printed by the photographer on specially toned bromide paper, and are unique. This bromide print is identical in format to those of Cecil Beaton, Elsa Lanchester and Maureen O'Hara in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London. 

Ginger Rogers was an American film and stage actress, dancer and singer.

During her long career, she made a total of 73 films, and is noted for her role as Fred Astaire's romantic interest and dancing partner in a series of ten Hollywood musical films that revolutionized the genre. She also achieved success in a variety of film roles, and won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Kitty Foyle (1940).

She ranks #14 on the list of AFI's 100 Years... 100 Stars.
