These are exact copies of Globe-Wernike Bookcase doors, made of quartersawn oak . I have spent a great deal of time and effort to create these exact copies of these sought-after, turn of the century bookcase parts. This will stain and finish so well that no one will be able to tell the difference...for much less than what you would pay for an original. These have the correct routing and molding profile. They look just like the originals. Also included are the strips to hold the glass in place and the two hinges and pivots for the doors. The glass is not included, and you will need to attach the hinges with the screws that are supplied. If you want knobs, they are $2.00 each.
This auction is for any standard size that Globe made (for models C,D, and E). If you buy, you will need to tell me what size (actual measurement) and how many you want.....
SHIPPING:
Buyer pays actual shipping from Cornelia, GA 30531. I use Fedex for shipping. These doors weigh about 6 lbs when packaged for the first door. Each door adds 2 lbs to it. To get a shipping cost, go to Fedex.com and enter the weight, my zipcode, 30531, and your zipcode. I will ship it either ground or express..your choice. I usually ship once a week, and most of the time it is on Mondays.
These are completely assembled..all you need to do is fine sand, stain and finish them.
NOTE: Globe made doors for other types of bookcases, too. I will be glad to make doors in any size. Prices will vary with size. Please email me with any questions.
The bookcase pictured below is an example of how the doors will finish. The sections are all old, but I built the base and the doors. Two of the doors are stained and finished..the top three are unfinished.
I also have ogee and mission bases and tops, and carry other components for these bookcases...knobs, hinges, and side straps, even exact reproductions of the wooden channels on the bottom (in case yours is warped or broken). Please ask any questions before bidding.
NOTE: I make each of these to order. I also sell them locally and ship all over the world. As a result, it normally takes a week or so (sometimes two) to get these shipped. I appreciate your patience.
Thanks!
