mystery and magic of gold.
It was gold that lured the "Secret Legion" - as oddly mixed a
group of adventurers as any in song or story - into the world's
most treacherous desert. And gold they found - a golden man,
an exotic golden woman, a huge golden tiger, and an eerie
golden snake. Gold brought them togehter... gold made them
enemies in a battle to the death... gold held the key to the
mysterious forces that assailed them.
Jack Williamson, alchemist with words, spins a rare web of
adventure, fantasy, and science... a gem from the golden age of
Weird Tales, now available in book form for the first time.

Condition:
This book is in Very Good condition.
Being 45 or so years old, it has a definite old book smell.
The pages have no tears or marks that I can find,
but do have yellowing due to age.
The edges of the pages are stained purple
(the book was produced that way), and the stain has some rubbing.
The front and back covers have a few very minor
creases and nicks along the edges,
but no other tears or stains that I can see.
The spine seems to be unblemished,
other than some very minor edge wear from shelving.
Binding is tight, and I'm not sure if this copy has ever been read.
Stamped "Oct. 1, 1964" in fading purple ink on
title page; not sure why.
