We purchased these lovely ROUND freshwater pearls direct from the pearl farms.
These are very attractive cultured pearls with beautiful shape and a truly lovely, soft luster.
A 22" strand will rest over the center of a woman's breastbone. You can also shorten the strand to a choker, by simply knotting the Pearl Strand.
*Pearl Grade AA is the second-highest grade for jewelry quality Pearls. AA Pearls are high quality, with high luster and at least 75% of the surface will be free of blemishes. These pearls are very round, with very good luster and better than 75% blemish-free surface. Because Pearls are an ORGANIC gem, and come from a mollusk, every single pearl is an INDIVIDUAL...just like people or animals. No two pearls on a strand are ever exactly alike...unless you pay thousands of dollars. These pearls are very beautiful. The luster on some of these pearls is exceptionally brilliant, while the luster on most of them is soft and delightful. I find the combination of surface luster to be charming.
The clasp is a 14/20 Gold Filled clasp. "Gold Filled" is far higher quality than "gold-plated". The surface gold is much thicker, and is permanently bonded to the base metal for a beautiful, permanent finish that will not chip or flake off. Normally, I change all the 14/20 clasps to solid 14k gold, but with the price of gold and silver lately, we are passing along the $40 savings to our buyers! We do, of course, offer 14k solid gold clasps, and can change the clasp for you, but we feel you will prefer to save BIG on this strand and keep the lovely gold filled clasp!
