These rare beads are cut from Polar Jade. Produced from the famous Polar jade mine in British Columbia. The best beads were hand picked and saved over the years. Until we had enough up to make these elegant pieces. Fred Ward (world's famous jade authority)once said "Polar jade is the hardest and greenest nephrite in the world. Look at the color and gemmy quality for yourself. However the color is much much richer in person than we could capture in the photo. These beads are absolutely stunning. Any necklaces not sold by October will be available at the Big Sur Jade Festival on Columbus day weekend 2009. The necklace is a graduated and 18 inches long. 5 different sizes of jade beads 4mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, and 12mm. For a total of 67 super green polar jade beads and 10 sterling silver spacer beads. Strung on platinum grade multi-stranded jewelers wire and finished off with a sterling silver clasp. This auction is for the necklace pictured.
