It is nearly eight years since the publication of the last edition of Volume 4 of the Great Britain Specialised Catalogue, covering the decimal definitive issues.

Following advice from many collectors of these ever-popular stamps, it has been decided to divide the former Volume 4 into two separate volumes, fast-bound, to match Volumes 1 to 3 in this series.  The new Volume 4 will include all sheet and booklet stamps showing the iconic 'Machin’ head, apart from the non-value indicator stamps (NVI’s) and self -adhesives, which will be covered in a new Volume 5, along with regionals, postage dues, greeting stamps and other sections of the previous Volume 4.

The new Volume 4 will list all the Machin definitives issued between 1970 and the end of 2007 (except those
mentioned above), with booklet panes and complete booklets in the comprehensive detail which collectors have come to expect over the years.

The catalogue has been completely re-set in a more attractive style and most of the illustrations have been replaced by newly scanned, clearer images.

Prices have been carefully revised and a number of amendments and improvements have been made to the
listings, following advice from both collectors and members of the stamp trade.

The popularity of these stamps shows no sign of diminishing and this new edition of the standard reference guide is sure to be a top seller.
