Ca.300 B.C.- A beautiful and delicate lidded vessel known as a lekanis, from the Greek colony of Apulia in southern Italy. Decorated front and back with portraits of the "Lady of Fashion" with palmettes separating. A knobbed lid with starburst pattern, base in blackware. 4"H x 3 1/2"D. In excellent condition with one repair on the lid.
