Description: 2 genuine antique engravings from Harper's Weekly: A Journal of Civilization on newsprint as published in Harper's on October 14, 1865.

The tailor shop of President Andrew Johnson located in Greeneville, Tennessee, was included within the Memorial Building of the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, in the 1920’s.

During its€™ time, the shop was the scene of many political debates and meetings. The antique print was from a photograph by J. B. Reef.

Size: Print size - Tailor Shop 5" x 3.5"
Pardoning the Rebels 7" x 9"
Sheet size - 15 1/2" x 22" (39 x 56 cm)
Condition: Etching and engraving on paper. Good sharp impression in GOOD state (average appearance for 144 year old document which may have uneven moderate age toning, minor foxing, minor staining and/or handling smudges, tiny closed margin tears which do not affect the print). 

3/4" tear in lower margin it does not cross the printed area. Handling smudges on print and margin. Text on verso.

Often old prints have imperfections which are unique to the hand production processes of wood block engraving.

Wood block lines, spots or foxing may appear on the print or in the margins. These generally add to the overall beauty of the print and attest to its authenticity.
