Now you can purchase a cost effective budget Grid-Tie solar power system for your on-grid home or office. This package consists of 1)a new Xantrex GT 2.8 KW Grid-Tie inverter 2) 600 watts of 10 new kaneka high voltage 60 watt Solar panels 3) 2 Multicontact 2 to 1 combiners (on for female PV ends, 1 for male PV ends) 1 100 ft USE-2 cable with Multicontact male and female ends 4) Photovoltaics Design and Installation Manual. That is all that is being sold in this auction. This system is sized and designed to be a starting package for someone wanting to begin to generate solar power back into the grid with plans for adding more panels later. If you are looking for a part-time or full-time remote home package, I have other auctions for that need. You will need to provide solar panel mounts (you can mount direct to the roof (depends on roof type) or build a ground mount frame, check local codes), and all wiring for solar panels and inverter. The Photovoltaics manual that is included provide a complete walk through on how to install and where you get the best solar exposure. Get complete details of each item in following description sections. With this set you will be able to begin to feed power back into the grid. Solar panels can be added in groups of 5 (or 6 if in a hot climate with no winter temperatures) as you expand the system. For each additional 600 watt package (10 panels, 2 MC combiners, 1 MC 100' cable) the cost is an additional $2250. Solar Power Estimator: To get a good estimate of the output potential of this system, I suggest you go to a Department of Energy site "in my backyard" a solar output and wind output estimator http://www.nrel.gov/eis/imby/ This program uses the PVWATTS government program that estimates actual power output from your location based on historical weather and solar output information and should provide a very good guesstimate of actual power output. To use this progarm click on IMBY and type in your address and click find. Then chose solar and and click DRAW and double click on your roof to allow you to go to the next step (if you want to do more with the draw option, read the instructions in the help section of that page). Then go down to step 2 and type 0.6 in the Size box, the fully loaded system is 2.4. If your mounting location (Roof, Ground, or Pole mount) points true south and is sloped the same as the tilt angle you are done. If not you need to enter the proper numbers for your mounting location. When you click RUN it will show your estimated solar power output along with some return estimates. In the payback section the return estimates are based on fully installed cost from a relatively high priced installer. The system they use by default is for a pure grid tie system that is fully loaded with panels. You are purchasing a grid tie package that is only partially loaded, so your per watt cost will is $7.10/watt. If you add enough panels to load the inverter to 2400 watts then your cost is $4.60/watt. The package will provide an estimate of tax credits, power company credits, and payback plus your monthly power production. You can adjust most everything in the program so feel free to experiment! Again no guarantees on actual rebates received or power output, but this is the best first pass system I have found. Solar Panels: Kaneka is a Japanese solar manufacturing company that has developed high quality amorphous solar panels that provide very cost effective power. The panels produce 60 watts of very reliable solar power at a high voltage and are one of the better choices for hot climates since they maintain high power output even in hot weather. The Solar panels are covered by a 25 year, 80% power output warranty and a 5 year manufacturer's material and defects warranty. These panels are well suited for roof mount or ground mount so you have lots of options. I have taken these panels to NREL and had them tested, the NREL test showed they produce 75 watts when brand new!! Great Panels!! This package consists of 10 of their GSA060 60 watt solar panels, of course each panel contains a bypass diode. To deliver that much power you will need to add solar panels up to that power level, but the unit will deliver the power from these solar panels back to the utility.. This Xantrex GT 2.8 KW inverter takes the series wired DC power from each 6 solar panels and converts it to 208 or 240 VAC and delivers that electricity to the utility net meter. The inverter has a built-in charge controller and will handle up to 600 volts of input DC power. This package is very easy to install and wire. Just 3 wires from the solar panels (DC +, DC -, and ground) into the inverter and 3 wires out to your home breaker box (per NEC 2008, 240 VAC (2 wires without common) and ground). Call your local electric utility to see what they offer for net metering. Another link for information: http://statesolarincentives.net/ You can get a very basic idea of what you qualify for by using the In My Backyard power calculator mentioned at the top of this listing How Much Power: Grid-Tie systems do not power your house directly, they feed the power they generate to the utilities net power meter, moving that meter backwards thus offset the power you use. Check your local utility to see exactly how they work these credits. This system will require a total of 2.8 KW watts of solar panels to be fully generating its maximum power back to the utility. Since this is a starter package, i have just include a starter set of panels that you can expand on as money permits. Payment: I accept all standard forms of payment.
