This listing is for a Guardian Service Ware Hostess Beverage Set - MINT IN BOX.
This set was manufactured exclusively for Guardian Service Ware by Queen's Lusterware Ltd., Brooklyn, N.Y. The manufacturer's reference for this item is 494/SH, and the set is sometimes referred to as the "Iced Tea Set."
This unused set consists of four (4) beverage glasses, a handled carrier, and four (4) silver-toned coasters in the original box. All pieces are undamaged and very shiny. There are no chips, cracks or wear to the glass or silver-tone design. Each glass is 5⅝" tall and 2¾" in diameter across the top. The coasters are 3¾" in diameter and 1⅝" tall. The handled carrier stands 7½" tall and conveniently holds all of the beverage glasses and coasters. The carrier is also in perfect shape and condition - exhibiting no rust or bending. The original box is sturdy and in excellent overall condition, with all flaps completely intact. There is minimal writing on one side of the box and clear packaging tape residue on the top and two (2) of the sides. Also included is the original cardboard packaging material that was wrapped around each glass.
This set would be very presentable as a gift - and will be packed very well to insure that it arrives safely at your door. Of course, shipping insurance is required. And... if you wish to purchase more than one item from us, please wait for an invoice prior to paying as we will combine shipping to save you money (we like to shop online, too!)
A note of interest...
I am selling vintage kitchen items from several estates - of which, several pieces are Guardian Service cookware. These pieces all date from World War II (and just before) and most often are found in not too pretty of a condition - but please note that when our Guardian Service cookware is presented for sale it is in very clean condition - we've done all the hard work for you. All you need to do is unpack it, wash in warm, sudsy water and rinse to remove any shipping dust prior to use - then enjoy!
Please note that this cookware may have some wobble and/or pitting and there may be small chips/slivers or "flea bites" in the glass lids, all of which are normal for the age of the pieces and do not affect its use... but overall, the Guardian Service Ware listed by Bid It Adieu is always very nice (damage to lids, even if slight, will be mentioned). SHIPPING
We prefer to ship via United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail for most items weighing less than 3 pounds. For items weighing more than 3 pounds we use either USPS Parcel Post or DHL. The shipping and handling cost is listed in the "Shipping and handling" section at the bottom of this page. Most shipping is calculated according to your address - please be sure to enter your zip code or select your country to view the correct cost.
If the listing states FREE shipping to the United States, we are referring to the 48 contiguous states – residents of Alaska and Hawaii, please contact us for the correct shipping charge.

We usually ship all orders within 2 business days of payment receipt. This is reflective of our business hours of 9:00AM - 5:00PM Monday through Friday EST. Items with Friday or weekend payments will usually ship by the following Tuesday.
SMALL APPLIANCES & TOOLS (NEWER) We ship many new (and new, old stock) appliances and tools in their original outer box/package, shrink wrapped to protect from moisture, to save on shipping costs (these items are already packaged with the necessary protection to secure them in transit). If you want the item (and its original box/package) shipped inside of another box, let us know. Please note, however, that this will cause an increase in your shipping cost.
LARGE AND FREIGHT ITEMS Please use the shipping calculator or – you are welcome to arrange your own freight shipping. A great source for inexpensive shipping is USHIP.com. Customer pickups are welcome and are actually preferred for freight items. Please see our business hours above.

COMBINED SHIPPING POLICY As we sell such a wide variety of items it is not possible to specify a standard rate for combined shipping. However, if you wish to purchase more than one item from us we will be glad to combine the shipping and handling costs for those items. That cost will be reflective of the package size and weight when the items are combined.
INSURANCE We are not responsible for loss or damage to items/packages once they leave our possession. As such, we would encourage you to purchase insurance when it is listed as "optional" on the invoice. The amount is noted – you need only to elect this option when making your payment.
Please note that if you are an International buyer, shipping insurance is required.
LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS
We take pride in our packaging, but if by some unforeseen accident the insured item is lost* or damaged in transit, we will not issue a refund for that item – the refund will come from USPS or DHL. We will assist you in anyway we can, but the REFUND for damaged or lost goods will be sent to you by the courier – not us. We will gladly help you complete/fill out any and all forms necessary to obtain your refund.
*Please note that a parcel is not considered lost until 21 days domestic and 45 days for International shipments has lapsed since the shipment date.
