 A VERY SCARCE/RARE ITEM
Published about 1853, containing 39 fine steel engraved views, with tissue guards.
GENERAL CONDITION:  Hard covers are scuffed, with engraved view front & back. Covers and contents are loose, virtually disbound and need the attention of a good Book Binder. Re-stringing might suffice, but in view of the scarcity of the book, it would perhaps be better to take the Binder's best professional advice.
Contents are generally clean & bright, with a little normal scattered age related soiling in places. 98 pages.
Hand written ink inscription dated Sept. 23rd, 1853.

THE FINE ENGRAVINGS WERE DRAWN BY BRANNON - WHO ALSO PRODUCED A SERIES OF EXCELLENT WATER COLOURS OF THE DISTRICT. A collection of 8 of his watercolours are housed at the Southampton City Council - see their website for details.
