Savon de Marseille is famous for its extraordinary purity and gentle skin care. Our authentic large Savon de Marseille palm oil block soap with verbena is made by soap factories or savonneries in the South of France according to the traditional manner. 

In fact, the factory that makes our Savon de Marseille is the ONLY ONE still does it by hand in France! It is much better than the rest of the Savon de Marseille soaps, which are made by machines in mass production.

The exquisite, ultra-moisturizing Marseille soap is recommended by dermatologists throughout the world for dry skin and other ailments. Its incredible purity and moisturizing properties make it ideal for sensitive skins. In France it has been trusted for generations to cleanse everything from linens to little faces. It is also wonderful for men's shaving (with straight razor).

Marseille Soap is totally biodegradable, requires little packaging and its manufacture is environmentally friendly. The fine white powder on the soap surface is a bit of the sea salt, which will disappear once the soap is wet. Fresh Marseille Soaps like ours can be a bit moist. Allowing them to dry and harden will make them last longer.

Infused with yummy verbena fragrance from Provence, the soap is perfect for those who love citrus verbena and want the same fine qualities of Savon de Marseille. In addition, it contains crushed verbena flower, which is wonderful for light exfoliation. The 2.5" cube soap contains 80% vegetable (palm) oil* and weighs 10.5 oz or 300 g. Made in France.

*Main reason palm oil instead of olive oil is used for this Savon de Marseille is because with the crushed flowers, the white "canvas" of palm oil (vs. the green olive oil) is much easier to work with colors so the verbena color is much more vibrant as a result.

Please note since each soap is HANDMADE and HANDCUT (vs. mass-market produced by machines), it is not in exact cube shape, hence we say RUSTIC FINISH. It is part of the CHARM of these HANDMADE soaps: each one is UNIQUE LOOKING.
