| It's time for Holiday shopping - so don't forget that collector in your life! Offering
this wonderful china creamer featuring three of Palmer Cox's famed
'Brownies', a golfer on one side and two cricket players on the other. Highly collectible, Palmer Cox
(1840-1924) was the grandfather of illustration (comics) who created
the Brownies. The Brownies appeared in books, plays and ads or packaging for almost everything, most famously the Kodak Brownie Camera. His characters where the first used for brand products. For example,
Brownie biscuits, sold by the National Biscuit Company (Nabisco)
preceded animal crackers. An Ivory Soap ad was the first use of an
author's characters in advertising. He was the first North American
author to write a successful musical based on his characters. This creamer is marked with Taylor, Smith & Taylor's mark circa 1908-1915. We are fortunate to have three other Palmer Cox pieces listed. This
item measures 4" high (at the handle), 2.5" across the mouth and 2.5" across the base. Condition is fair to good, there is a chip at the edge of the mouth (please see photos) and light crazing from age. Please contact us with any questions you might have
