Smashed mailboxes, even though it is a federal offense, are a common sight along our rural roads and highways. I'm almost sure everyone who owns a mailbox has had it smashed at least once, and can relate to the pictures above.

We set out to make the toughest mailbox commercially available when we designed this unit. 41 Pounds of carbon steel are used in the fabrication of this unit! This mailbox will truly last a lifetime, and makes a great gift for anyone who has a "wimpy" mailbox!! 

DESCRIPTION:

The "Quality-Stuff" HEAVY DUTY RURAL ROUTE DOUBLE DOOR STANDARD SIZE MAILBOX is designed to last a lifetime:

• The Double door feature allows you to retrieve your mail through the back door, and never set foot on the busy highway.
• This is one of the toughest built mailboxes you will ever find.   
• And it is made right here in the USA .
• It features heavy duty welded construction of heavy carbon steel components plate. The shell is 1/4" carbon steel, the floor is 3/16" carbon steel, the door is 10 gauge carbon steel.
• It weighs 45 pounds. This mailbox is built to the same dimensions of a standard size rural route mailbox (except it has doors on both ends). Overall dimensions are 22" x 7" x 10".
• It has standard mounting holes, for easy installation.
• It is shipped with standard hardware assembled. The hardware can be easily replaced if damaged someday.
• Standard Color is Grey Industrial Enamel finish. 
• Looks just like a "typical" mailbox when speeding by in a car.
• These units are hand fabricated in our shop, there is NOTHING LIKE THIS COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE, to my knowledge.

  Thanks so much!    After being struck 

  by a large truck   The mailbox itself is totally intact 

  except for the paint finish and the stick-on numbers which are partially melted 

  from the friction.  I'm thinking about repainting it to look like a tank! 

  My past luck with mailboxes has been discouraging.   Between snowplows, 

  skidding cars and Halloween vandalism I've gone through at least 1 mailbox every 

  year.  Special "indestructible" plastic mailboxes, wooden mailboxes, spring 

  activated posts-- I've tried them all.

  I had your mailbox for quite awhile before installing it.  I dug the hole, 

  constructed the post and custom-painted the mailbox on one of the hottest days 

  in July.  It took me hours to finish and my neighbors couldn't resist pointing 

  out the futility of it all.

  They're believers now.  I can't wait for next Halloween!
