Hematite or hemalyke is a man made substance that has the appearance of finely polished stainless steel. Very reflective of the surrounding environment, that adds to its beauty and appeal, but makes it difficult to photograph. A beautiful surface and finish, these ankh pendants (components) are very, very eye-catching and appealing.

The ankh is designed after the ancient Egyptian symbol for life; today is is known as the Egyptian Cross (the latin description is crux ansata, translating as a cross with a handle).

The top of the traditional ankh design allows for a ring or cord to pass through to hang on a necklace. Beautiful as a stand-alone necklace item, or mix with a few smaller beads, keeping this as the centerpiece.
