The covers show wear. The corners and spine ends are bumped. The pages show some creases and smudges here and there.

This book is a FORMER LIBRARY BOOK with the usual markings, stickers and pockets. The inside spines have been reinforced with library cloth tape.

The jacket is NOT clipped. The original price was listed as $8.95. The jacket is mylar covered and shows minor wear and tear.

It was fall. And on the night of the big frost, Henry and his dog, Laird Angus McAngus, decided that they must explore the wild and untracked mountains near their house. Before winter set in.

So the next morning they set out, with flags and banners as any good explorers would, and also with rope. "You always need rope when climbing in the mountains-for safety," Henry said.

"I expect you to be home before dark," said Henry’s father.

"Of Course," said Henry.

And off they went. They picked their way through dangerous canyons and up steep cliffs, had their lunch, and then troubles began. Angus fell from the cliff to a small outcrop below. And to make matters worse, there was a fire in the woods below the cliff.

It was an exciting afternoon for Henry and Angus, and best of all was the marvelous trip home at the end of the day. That was better than even Henry’s imagination could have made it.
