Raw materials information:
Original and genuine raw materials used to produce extracts can only be sourced directly from the country of origin in order to ensure optimum integrity. For example, you cannot have American or European Epimedium - these plants simply aren't native there. Whilst some supplement companies claim that their products are sourced only from America or Europe, this can only be possible by using raw materials purchased from dealers (middle men) in America or Europe, who are often not transparent when it comes to giving information on the raw materials that they sell and where they come from. But you can guess where they have come from - they have been imported form the country they are native to. So in the whole nutritional supplements business field, never think products from Non-American or Non-European regions are inferior. If you do your research, you will learn that many natural herbs are not native in the West. Items in my listings are from certified manufacturers who source and produce only genuine and quality extracts. They are GMP approved and their raw materials are sourced from all over the world directly, assuring you get the best quality no different from the branded, bottled, hyped up, capsulized, over-priced finalized products on the American and European markets. Standardized Extracts:
Don't waste your money on whole herbs that have simply been processed into powder as they are extremely weak compared to Standardized Extracts. A Standardized Extract is the end result of a process (Standardization) when only the 'active ingredient' from the whole herb has been taken out (Extracted). This active ingredient is the natural occuring compound found inside the whole herb that does the work. Let's use a Sugar Cane for a simple understanding, with its active ingredient being Sucrose. A whole raw Sugar Cane weighing 100g, is far less effective than Sucrose weighing 100g. The 100g Sucrose is probably equivelant of 500g of whole Sugar Cane. Alot of finished products on the market do not state whether their capsulized powder is an standardized extract or simply whole herb that has been powderised. According to my research, even some of those that do state it's an extract, rarely state its potency/strength. They simply state the weight of the content per capsule such as 500mg Horny Goat Weed Extract. But the potency/strength of the active ingredient 'Icariin' could be anything - 5%, 10% of that overall 100mg extract.So, always be aware of what you are buying. Don't just fall for marketing quotes such as stongest, purest, best etc. To identify what you're buying and in what amounts, look for the names of the actual compounds that have been standardized. Understanding a label requires some self-education. Anyway, in the end, standardization is the best guarantee that a product contains what it's supposed to contain in amounts sufficient to produce a desired effect, so don't waste money on whole herbs.
