HOOSIER HYSTERIA - HISTORY OF INDIANA HS BASKETBALL

For sale is a book entitled  'Hoosier Hysteria - A History of Indiana High School Basketball' by Herb Schwomeyer.  Schwomeyer is referred to as the Hoosier Hysteria Historian, and this book is the BIBLE of Indiana High School Basketball History.  A whopping 413 pages! 

Chapters include: 1) Introduction;  2) Basketball History;  3) Indiana High School Athletic Association;  4) Indiana High School Basketball Tournament History.  Chapter 4 includes a rundown of EVERY state title championship from it's Indiana inception in 1911 (Crawfordsville over Lebanon) through the 1969-70 season (East Chicago Roosevelt over Carmel).  EVERY state championship rundown includes a full page summary not only of the championship game, but of the title team's entire season, a full page listing of the scores of the title team's entire season, box scores of all three finals games (both semi-finals and the title game), a half-page picture of the championship team, a list of the title team's complete roster, and a picture of that years Trester Award winner.  Just an incredibly thorough history and resource book for Indiana High School Basketball and it's tournament from 1911-1970.  The final chapter, Chapter 5, is titled Historical Highlights, and includes 45 highlights of Indiana High School basketball through 1970.  Sections include: Pavy 51 Rayl 49 in record duel; Shepard and his flock; Unusual Games; Consecutive Wins; Indiana-Kentucky All Star Series; Winningest Schools & Coaches; Arley, Harley and Uncle Harold, and just so many wonderful stories!  Lots of incredible pictures, including pictures of every IHSAA Commissioner, every single state finals venue, and too much more to list here!  A FANTASTIC book that only a born and bred Hoosier high school hoops junkie could fully appreciate!

Copyright 1970, book shows some minor cover wear, but otherwise in MINT condition, no rips, tears, or otherwise, of the cover or any pages at all.  Inside pages are all MINT!  Just an incredible book!  Undoubtedly, very few of these valuable books still exist.  A RARE piece of Indiana High School Basketball History!
