This tour offers a horseback ride that features gorgeous panoramic views of the Colorado River and gold and silver mines dating back to the 19th century. Miners’, Cowboys and Indians were the primary residents of this lawless land. On this tour you will have the opportunity to visit some of their original homes sites and experience a re-creation of an “Old West Mining Town”.

The ride treks along paths that were originally used for mule driven ore carts that carried precious minerals to the river. You'll be riding on mountain terrain, surrounded by forests of cholla cactus, with towering, multicolored rock formations as the backdrop for this incredibly scenic tour.

Step right into the pages of history, with a walking tour of the Techaticcup mine. You will venture deep into this rumored haunted gold mine and visit 3 different shafts, one of which drops down to over 900 feet. Learn how the hardiest of men labored feverishly looking for GOLD! Chiseling their way through the mountainside inch-by-inch, with the most primitive of tools and working by candlelight.

The lunch stop at the Old West Town will take you back in time, featuring foundations from one of the original Mining Camps of the 1800’s. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch under a covered pavilion, while listening to the sound of a natural spring that furnishes precious water to the desert wildlife in the area. This natural spring attracts big horn sheep, the kit fox and a variety of desert wildlife, so look closely as not to miss the creatures that blend into the natural landscape of the desert.

Requirements: Must be 8 or over. Under 18 must have Parent/Guardian present. Helmets required (and provided) for under 18.

Transportation:

You will be picked up at your hotel in a comfortable, safe Shuttle or Bus and transported to the Eldorado Canyon, just 45 minutes from Las Vegas. First up is a walking tour of the historical Techaticcup Mine. You will be greeted by friendly and experience wranglers who will provide you with a Safety Orientation before you start your trail ride. After your trail ride, you'll return to the Old West Town and enjoy a delicious meal. Allow 5 5-1/2 hours hotel to hotel.

Eldorado Canyon is located just 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. Come on down and step right into the pages of history. There are old mines, original footings from buildings of the 1800's, breathtaking cactus gardens, natural springs, views of the Colorado River, and more!
