It's time to let go of the material items from my childhood~although the memories remain~
Up for auction: HUGE 155-Piece Barbie Collection
Auction includes 6 dolls, including Ken. I acquired these in the late 70's and played with them often. I am the original owner. My mom recently off-loaded all of the boxes containing my childhood toys that she'd been storing in her attic. I would judge these pieces as in 'good' condition. The dolls are all in very good condition, with the exception of one; the Barbie in the photo wearing the white gown, has a displaced leg. I 'popped' it back in place, but it isn't secure.
The clothing is original Mattel/Barbie; however, there are no labels. Only one of the bathing suits, which features the 'B' on the bottoms.
Most of the clothing is in 'good' condition, but in no way near perfect. It is very obvious the use I got out of everything listed here. A few of the pieces have stains from being in storage for over 30 years. I'm not sure if laundering will remove these stains. Everything could stand to be laundered, although there are no odors present. Also, as clearly indicated in the photos, most would benefit from ironing. There are pieces that are missing snaps, some have tatters, and a few are actually in very good condition considering their age.
I am not at all an expert on Barbie, so I'm not sure what the collectors out there are looking for. I just decided it was time to simplify my life and noticed there is a demand out there for Vintage/Contemporary Barbies and clothing/accessories.
As for the accessories featured, you'll find a number of pairs of boots, shoes, hair accessories, kitchen/cooking items, athletic pieces (tennis racket/ball in bag, dumb-bells), lamp, purses/handbags, hangers.
Please ask questions! Again, this is an original collection from my childhood and since I'm not a collector myself, I'm sure there might be more specific features you are looking for that I might not have mentioned here. |
