It is my pleasure to present for consideration a HUGE Amphora Pitcher (or amphora style jug) done in the style that is so distinct of this manufacturer. This is classic Chechoslovakian Art Deco pottery.

I love the Humming Bird motif, it is different on each face. It does not have a makers mark, but there can be no doubt who manufactured this massive piece – Amphora is just so very distinctive.

There is an “R” stamped on the base and impressed into the base is the code 15481 and 25. While I can’t date this to an exact year it has to be pre-World War II as Amphora was closed during WWII and it did not opened again after the war.

  • Dimensions

This large and prestigious amphora pitcher strides in at a mighty 35 cm (14”) tall and it measures 25 cm (10”) across the top from the edge of the handle to the lip of the spout.

  • Condition

It is in EXCELLENT condition, there are NO chips, cracks, stains and no crazing. There is some colour missing to one of the decorations on one face - see photo below – this is not wear this is from the time of production: I only bother to mention this minor production flaw for complete accuracy.

This is a HUGE piece; it is about as collectable as they come, from the shape to the colour and the style. Hit the BUY IT NOW tab and make sure you can’t be out bid in the final moments of the auction.
