Presented for consideration is a MASSIVE Carlton Ware Vase hand decorated with Heron and Magical Tree motif on the mottled navy lustre ground. This ART DECO pattern just rocks on this back ground and this perfect shaped vase to displays the motif that at its optimum.

There are two versions of the pattern on the vase a small version that shows the tree in full (above) and a large version that shows a larger Heron and only the upper level of the Jewelled tree (below).

It has the black stamped maker’s mark of the style that was in use from 1925. There is also a partial factory applied paper label with the pattern number written on it in pencil. The pattern number is 4325. This vase has a production window from 1940 to 1951.

  • Dimensions

This large and prestigious vase strides in at a proud 25.2 cm (10”) tall and it has a mouth diameter of 14.7 cm (5.75”).

  • Condition

It is in EXCELLENT condition; with no chips, cracks, stains or repairs. There is no wear to the pattern or to the gilding, but the mother of pearl inside and the white base does exhibit crazing. This magical has obviously only ever known the easy life of a cabinet dweller.

This delight stands as a proud testament to Carlton Ware’s position as one of the powerhouses of the English Art Deco movement.
