    This exquisite female torso displays great sensitivity in the rendering of the female body: beauty lines incised around the neck and under the high and firm breasts are folds of the skin, emphasizing the femininity of the torso with a narrow waist and rounded hips.

    The sarong is at ankle-length and narrowly pleated, in a true Baphuon manner, baring the naval and rising high at the back.
This skirt, from which a small scrolling flange of material extends out below the waist, folds scrolling flange of a fishtail panel. A jewelled belt fastened with an elaborate knot supports it. This is of a fairly simple type distinctive of the early Baphuon style, as opposed to that of the late Baphuon style in whicd the belt is decorated with hanging jewelled pendants.

    The waistline of the garment is of oval shape , as opposed to the rounded shape of the later Baphuon  sculptures.

    The light brown surface patina of the polished stone compares with the smooth skin of Khmer women.
