WOW!! Look what we’ve found. These huge ladies’ glasses are in mint condition – they were advertising display in an optometrist’s office in the 1950s. We bought them from the original optometrist that had them in his office for years in Denver Colorado.  The size is to scale, they are actually 17-1/2” long and the manufacture is the same as for regular scale glasses, and they have true working parts. Made of heavy acrylic/Lucite in two melded layers of thick crystal-clear top and thinner black back with silver cut metal mesh sandwiched between. Heavy metal hinges work the arms that are perfectly shaped for a very large pair of ears. There are no major scratches, though a few miniscule scratches on inside at ends of earpieces. An identical all-white pair is shown in “Top 10 Collectibles” article in the Jul/Aug 2005 Country Home magazine. These are just the thing for topping a bookcase or cupboard, or just standing on the coffee table, not to mention funny pictures of the dog!
