A gorgeous late 1800's parlor lamp. Alot heavier and fancier than most I've seen. Has 2 large turned pieces of alabaster or onyx, the lower piece has brass around it. Signed on font as shown in pic #6. Never been electrified that I can tell. No holes drilled in font, holder or base. Not sure if the burner is complete, maybe missing a flame spreader? No wick. Filler cap is not original (Zimmermans). Excellent overall condition, I would note a tight hairline to the upper piece of onyx (pic #3), the issue with the burner, a small bend to the fancy edge around the font, and that the lamp stands a little crooked. I believe it is crooked from age, the base is not bent, the feet are all even, and no missing or broken pieces along the column. I am sure it can be corrected, I just never took the time. Measures approx. 25 1/2" tall to shade ring, base is 7 3/4" square, shade ring will hold a 4" shade, removeable brass font is about 4 3/4" diameter. Weighs 13 lbs un-boxed. Great patina and dust, I didn't try to clean. No reserve, no buy it now. Thanks. Buyer pays shipping in the US of $18.00 including insurance. |
