Without doubt - Canada,s most famous ship - originally built in 1921 whilst built as a fishing vessel, her fine lines and unusual sail configuration ( it has 8 sails)made it extremly fast in the water and raced against many vessels - never losing a race. The original Bluenose 1 was shipwrecked and was replaced by the Bluenose 2 which was launched in 1946 an exact replica of the original and so too was raced against many vessels and as with her predecessor never lost a race. The Bluenose 2 was retired a couple of years ago and is now on display although occassionally it joins the Armada of Tall Ships which travel to the West Coast of North America, just so that people can see how these fine ships look.

The model being offerred is of the Bluenose 2 and the five pictures will show how the model will look when you take it out of the box, the second picture shows the sail configuration which as you can see has all been assembled for you as well as the rigging - the first picture shows how your model will look after just a few minutes(promise)of assembly which basically requires you to put the two masts by means of the pins into the holes provided on the deck - inserting the rigging into the holes on the side of the hull and finally inserting the bowsprit ( the nosepiece) into the hole provided. There are two pins - one at the front and the other at the stern for you to insert which tightens up the sails. The fourth picture gives you a view of the completed vessel from above and the last picture shows a close up of the hull with the stand and the brass nameplate "Bluenose11"

The model which is hand carved has a hull which is made of mahagony which has been given a coating of shellac to bring out the beautiful grain of this wood - the sails are "cloth"  - no plastic on any of our models.

The model is 14 inches long from the stern to the tip of the bowsprit - 13 inches high from the bottom of the stand to the top sail.

We have a limited number of these models available, and there will not be any more available until late Summer,

Any questions please email me, we have a 100% satisfaction record and plan to keep it that way
