Hand Crafted Double Treadle Louet Style Spinning Wheel

Hand crafted by father and son in New Hampshire. Made from solid Northern white pine & sealed with a fine Danish oil rub. The ball bearings used in crucial areas make this wheel very smooth & easy to operate. Fits Louet brand bobbins; three (3)lathe turned double speed bobbins included. Also comes with a removable Lazy kate that can hold two bobbins when not in use and room for a second one for the ability to hold up to (4) bobbins and a 5th on the flyer!!. The 20" wheel allows for speeds up to 16:1 (special order high speed bobbin) for the more experienced spinners or you can use with the more traditional slower two speed bobbins like I make, (see other auctions) if just starting out, which give a 5.5:1 or 7.6:1 ratio depending on which end of the bobbin is used on the drive side. Also compatible with Louet 3 speed bobbins. Make your first spinning wheel the only one you'll ever need. This wheel combines the best features from several Louet, Ashford and kromski models with a dose of New England ingenuity for an elegant yet very functional unit.
