The process of Painted Batik

Traditional batik designs utilize patterns hand drawn over the generations.  
Batik is a Javanese word refers to a generic wax-resist dyeing technique used on fabric.  
This technique is used over thousand years old.

• Drawing  the design with hot wax onto a piece of cloth.
• Painting the designs with beautiful colors.
• Covering the painted designs with hot wax.
• Painting the background colors from dark to light, gradually, little by little.
• Waiting until the colors dry, then boiling the cloth in hot water to remove the wax.
• The process repeated over and over again for each color used.
• It is an exceptionally time consuming  process that yields an exceptionally
  high quality work of art.
