Horse head bottle opener is hand forged by Brian Brazeal. Made fom 1/4x 1/2" inch stock.
Check out the photos-#1 is this opener, # 2 shows the tools and material used for most items like this one and # 3 is Brian in the shop. Brian also made all his tools except for the Hammer. The hammer is made by Tom Clark at the Ozark School of Blacksmithing where Brian continued to learn and perfect his blacksmithing techniques.
Brian Brazeal has been studying traditional blacksmithing in the US and Europe for over 20 years. Brian was also fortunate to have studied in Austria with Professor Alfred Haberman who is considered the most well known blacksmith in the world. Brian considers himself a purist in blacksmithing because of his forging techniques. His pieces are truly hand forged, not grinded or filed into shape. When you look you can see the honesty of the forging. Metal is moved and the dimension is changed with the hammer. Like pinching clay with your fingers. All joinery is traditionally collared, riveted or forge welded, etc. Brian never uses a modern welder to join pieces together. Each of Brian's pieces, small or large, is a work of art and will last many lifetimes." Forged not Forgery", Brian Brazeal
