This is a hand painted Asian paper parasol decorated with a flowery branch and birds.  These are made in China and are "sa paper" umbrellas.

Brand new and beautifully detailed.  This one has an interesting scalloped edge so the entire parasol looks like a flower.  It has a bamboo handle with grooves that fit your fingers nicely.  The mechanism to open and close it is a small metal piece you can press to release it.

The colors are amazing - here is a close up shot of the artwork.  These umbrellas make beautiful art pieces to display in your home; either hanging, or you can (gasp!) sacrifice the handle and put them on the wall.  But I say wear it!  It's gorgeous and would dress up any outfit, even a simple colored t-shirt and jeans.

The Gory Details and Necessary Evils:

Buyer pays U.S. Postal Service shipping (either domestic or global) for this item.  I will happily combine multiple items or ship international!  CA residents must add 7.75% sales tax.  I will accept either money orders by mail (make out to "Material Addiction" please) or credit cards through Paypal.  Payment must be received within 7 days after the auction closes.  Your item will ship within 2 business days after I receive payment - no kidding.  I'm just a girl, not a retail store, so I cannot afford returns and all sales are final.  However, this is still a business venture so I don't mark international shipments as gifts (please don’t ask).

No checks please - you don’t want to wait ten days and neither do I.  I enjoy answering questions because it means people are looking at my stuff, so please ask before you bid.  Know your measurements and check them - I measure my clothing and provide as much sizing information as I can.  I sell vintage items - these things are used, not in new condition, and may show normal wear and tear (because they're old!).  Any problems I find will be mentioned.  Vintage, used clothing has not been dry-cleaned, and is sold "as found."  Leaving the cleaning up to the Buyer helps to keep my prices low.  I also sell new Paper Doll Productions and Lip Service clothing - these things are in completely new, never worn condition.  If you win one of my items and don't pay, I reserve the right to request a credit, relist this item, leave feedback you won't like, tell my mom, and I won't play with you anymore.

As for the bad karma that might result for flaking on me, you're on your own!
