Handcarved Wooden Bookends, Ethnic, Figural Male/Female

Here's a very nice Pair of Handcarved Ethnic Wooden Bookends. These have the appearance, I think, of South American Origin, but I can't say with real certainty.  The Male and Female Figures are garbed in "Villager" Clothing and are each holding a rough hewn bowl and are resting upon bags.  The Ends are approximately 7" Tall and 6 3/8" Wide.  They are in excellent condition, with no nicks, chips, or splitting.
