Muddlers: The muddler is an important bar tool for anybody wishing to make the best classic cocktails. You might commonly see it used by bartenders to mash up some lemons or limes when used in the construction of a drink such Mojito or a Caipirinha.  It is used prior to adding any ice as a way to crush an ingredient in order to get it to release its oils and other flavor components. 

Mine are hand made one-of-a-kinds. No two are exactly alike as they are made one at a time on my lathe and hand polished with only foodsafe carnuba wax, (apples, pears, etc. are sprayed with a form of carnauba to achieve their polished look).

The Wood: Goncalo Alves - (Astronium fraxinifolium) - A hard and heavy wood from Tropical Central America with light golden brown to reddish brown with blackish brown streaks. The wood has a fine texture and takes a glass-like finish, turns well and is quite durable and weather resistant.  Used for fine furniture, cabinets, and boat building.
