HAROLD ARLEN: HAPPY WITH THE BLUES, Edward Jablonski

Doubleday & Company, stated First Edition, 1961, 286 pages.  Hardcover with dustjacket.  Former library item, with customary markings. The interior pages show a little reading wear, and are agetoning a bit. The endpapers, which show the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Convention in San Francisco September 24, 1940, (unfortunately) has tape marks.  The black boards are somewhat worn at the corners. The dj corners have been clipped, otherwise minimal wear, aside from a light crease on the rear panel.  No lib markings on the dj.

This is the first biography of one of America's greatest composers (Stormy Weather...), admired by the likes of Richard Rodgers and Cole Porter.  Illustrated with 30 pages of b/w photos.

 

This book ships internationally with Priority Mail for $12.95.
